Duralay Timbermate Excell Silver is one of the UK's best-selling premium underlays for engineered wood and laminate flooring — and the underlay we specify on our own professional installations. At 3.6mm thick, it delivers noticeably better sound reduction and underfoot comfort than standard 2mm foam alternatives, making it the right choice for living rooms, hallways, and upper-floor bedrooms where sound transfer matters.
The built-in Vapourstop moisture barrier protects your floor from damp rising through concrete or timber subfloors, removing the need for a separate DPM layer. It also masks minor subfloor imperfections, giving your new floor a flatter, more even base to sit on.
Independently tested to reduce impact sound by up to 23dB — you will notice the difference underfoot from day one.
Each roll covers 15m² and is supplied with an overlapping edge for neat, gap-free fitting. Compatible with underfloor heating systems thanks to its low thermal resistance rating.
